Back to the Moon - For Good

Launched in 1972, the Apollo 17 mission remains the most recent manned moon landing and the last time that humans have journeyed beyond low Earth orbit. This program presents the ongoing race among privately funded teams from around the world as they compete for $30 million, the largest incentivized prize in history. The ultimate goal of this race is to land a robotic spacecraft on the moon.  This exciting story includes basic lunar science, a glimpse at the endeavors of the international teams competing, and speculation about our future on the moon.
