Hour of Code

December 13, 2014 -
3:00am to 5:00am

Take part in a nationwide initiative by CSEdWeek and code.org to introduce 10 million students to computer programming and encourage them to learn how to code!

3 - 4 pm:  A 1-hour online introduction to computer science designed to demystify code.  Anyone can learn computer programming basics, and have fun doing it!

4 - 5 pm:  Lee Beyer, District 6 Oregon State Senator, and Terry Beyer, Chair of the Springfield Education Foundation, will attend later in the afternoon.  Once you've mastered the basics, visit with the Beyers and assist them in a second Hour of Code!

Science Factory members can make a reservation to participate by calling Visitor Services: 541-682-7888.  Public drop-ins welcome depending on space available.  Additional offline coding activities will be provided if we fill up the computer lab.
